The North Plaza 9 office building has been renovated. Banimmo (building owner and operator) hdivided the building into two entities; A and B and convert the whole into a passive building with a BREEAM New Construction OUTSTANDING rating.
The renovation project is located in the business district “Brussels North”, and therefore has an excellent accessibility. Networks NØR can be reached both by public transport and by car.
The building consists of three underground floors that are used as parking, a floor level and 9 upper floors initially intended as offices. The ground floor is used partly for reception and partly as retail and office space. Thanks to the flexible modulation of the offices, it can be used for different purposes. Multi-functionality is key, and that’s also the purpose of the architects. DDS+ opts for a smart use of space and plenty of light. This building is characterized by large glass sections, high entrances, several reflective surfaces and an atrium.
Bopro was responsible for the Project Management, Quantity Survey and Safety Coordination. We also act as a BREEAM and energy performance consultant.
During the construction a BREEAM New Construction certification was already obtained with an OUTSTANDING score. The process for obtaining a BREEAM Shell & Core certificate is still in progress.
