Meeting house for brooding spirits
Villa Voortman is a meeting house in Ghent for people with what is nowadays called a 'double diagnosis': a combined problem of substance abuse and psychological difficulties. The complex combination ensures that the target group never fully fits into the regular care network. Villa Voortman wants to offer an answer to this by welcoming visitors as people with their own story, a past and a future, with wishes and dreams.
Everyone is welcome. There is no hierarchy. Everyone helps each other, whereas in society it's every man for himself.
