In Ghent, an entire zone is being upgraded between the R4 and the E40. “The Loop”, which includes Flanders Expo and Ikea, covers about 376,500 m2 and will be fully developed by Banimmo, in collaboration with the City of Ghent. Ikea and Flanders Expo will of course remain, but homes, offices, shops and recreation areas will be added to the site. An overview map can be found here.
On the plots located on the Raymonde de Larochelaan, Bopro is working on two office buildings with an underground parking garage and on the landscaping of the surrounding area.
The buildings are mostly intended for the furnishing of offices, there will also be a Business Centre and a restaurant.
The fact that this zone is located next to the E17 and E40 ensures optimal accessibility for both those who come from far and near. Tram 1 quickly connects this area with Sint-Pietersstation and Ghent city centre. In the coming years, the range of public transport will be further expanded and additional bicycle and pedestrian connections will be developed.
This project will be built in phases:
– Phase 1: construction of the underground car park (+-125 underground parking spaces, 4,600 m²) and building B (+-9,700 m²).
– Phase 2: construction of Building A (+-6,900 m²).
