As a Project Manager Quantity Survey you will manage a project where you aim to optimise the added value for the client. You manage the overall project and all costs relating to construction and real estate projects, from the initial feasibility calculations to the final cost breakdowns.

Your role is to optimize the costs of a building, taking into account all life cycle, and enhance value for money, while still achieving the required standards and quality.

You will guide the client in the successful building assessment and certification of the building or area. This can be during both the design, construction and/or renovation phase. You always report accurately and punctually on the progress and results of these assessments to the client.

Responsibilities

  • Take up the role as project leader and single point of contact to the client
  • Manage the overall quality, time and budget of the project together with the internal and external project team
  • Establish the budget and cost estimation based on the preliminary design and program of requirements
  • Monitor construction costs during the design and execution phase and compare them to the budget
  • Develop Life Cycle Cost Analysis (LCCA) and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) to identify the most sustainable solutions
  • Collect price information on innovative products, materials and systems throughout all stages of the projects’ cycle to promote sustainable solutions
  • Specialize in breaking down costs for circular buildings and circular business models
  • Assist and guide in setting up the cost breakdowns based on the construction plans
  • Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities with the architect and/or the client
  • Verify all cost calculations
  • Evaluate and verify variation orders
  • Perform risk, value management and cost control
  • Analyze outcomes and write detailed progress reports
  • Value the completed work and approve payments

Requirements

  • Degree in engineering or architecture (or equivalent through experience)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a calculator/cost manager in construction or real estate sector
  • Passionate about sustainability - sense of responsibility to strive for sustainable projects
  • Taking initiative is at the forefront of your vocabulary and you can set priorities
  • Strong communication skills and team player
  • You are fluent in Dutch and/or French, a basic knowledge of English is a plus
