OCMW Bruges modernised the housing and care centre Van Zuylen. The existing building is thoroughly renovated and expanded with a new wing that contains 60 rooms.
In the low-energy building, solar boilers take care of the hot water production and photovoltaic cells provide electric energy. The toilets are connected to a recuperation system for rainwater.
The designers chose unexpected colour accents and modern design and lighting, with special attention to ergonomics and user-friendliness.
