In 2005 BOPRO was appointed as design and construction safety co-ordinator for the renovation of the Résidence Palace. The building is located on the Wetstraat in Brussels and will be occupied by the Council of the European Union in 2013.
The works comprise asbestos removal in the existing infrastructure and demolition of part of the building. The protected part from 1923 will be preserved. In addition to these works a new part will be added.
The glass volume will cover the entire site and comprises a concave, glass cube with an organic volume. This organic volume will consist of offices, conference halls, a restaurant,...
