In order to relocate all of its services at one central location Infrax has constructed a new Head Office in Torhout. As manager and supplier of energy, Infrax wanted to set an example by creating a durable building.
CrepainBinst Architects drew the plans and VK Engineering was responsible for the technical installations.
The building deals with energy in an extremely rational and economical way. For climate control, concrete core activation and an energy storage field of drill holes are used. At the same time, the lighting concept complies with the high comfort requirements and ambitious objectives regarding energy savings. Photovoltaic solar panels are located in the green façade. Finally, water basins and a green roof ensure the collection of rainwater around the building.
